OR you have the options to add: Color $16/mo., Font $16/mo., Size (limited) $16/mo. and Highlight $22/mo. Grand Total: $840.00 per year. This is still only these same 4 lines of information. Their pitch to the Client is “Get Your Listing Noticed”. Our question and yours should be “what does that tell the consumer about me outside of the original 4 lines in the first place”? 4 lines is still 4 lines, even if it is dressed up.
These are simply the basic enhancements. NOW we get in to placement features and this is where the cost skyrockets for the Company wishing to advertise. Keep in mind that all along what you are getting is the same basic few lines of information.
If you choose their full package for color, font, size, highlight and placement, $423.00 x 12 months = $5,076.00 per year. And all you are showing the customer is your name, address and contact information. superpages.com also offers web development and hosting but you must call them for quotes.

Whitepages.com Keep in mind that this is the parent company of the majority of that entanglement of companies/websites. We had a team of people attempting to find/get pricing from them but what we found was a page which says “for more information about how the Whitepages.com Network can help you reach your advertising goals, download our Media Kit” This happens to be a .pdf file that does not give any information. (please click the link to see for yourself.) As just mentioned, there isn’t any direct pricing information for a business to view and it does not direct us (you) to do anything or go anywhere. So we click through all the choices under their “Advertise With Us” tab and can only find a list of numbers/people. None of the contacts answer on the first call….or the second and third calls. Evidently, you must leave a message and wait for someone to contact you to learn of the pricing. We’re still waiting.

Yellowpages.com Similar to whitepages.com, we couldn’t find anything pertaining to price via their website so we had to call and speak with someone live. The funny thing was that in all of our attempts, we noticed that they have a policy in place which the customer service representative will ask you, up front, for a lot of personal information and then they tell you “for quality control purposes (so they may record your conversation), they must hang up now and call you right back. At this point you still have not received anything more than frustration and wasted time. All you wanted was pricing for their products, yes? Finally they will email/send you written information. There will be 4 files (pdf’s). 3 of them are stats-type pages which are attempts at planting mental seeds as to how big and wonderful yellowpages.com is. Finally you’ll view the pricing matrix. In one column they have all 50 states and next to the column of states there are 12 additional columns with very odd pricing. Obviously it’s 12 types of products they offer and the prices vary based on density of population/commerce. In any instance youll find a need for serveral of the products which quickly means youre in the thousands of dollars annually. Yellowbook.com, Qwest Dex (dexonline.com) and others Without question, Yellowbook is the king of the hill in PRINT directories, otherwise known as phone books. But in the business of online directories, and like all these others listed above, they wave their flag of size and might above would-be advertisers and somehow set ridiculous pricing for minimal product. Qwest is a regional phone/internet provider who, like all the above, has also come up with quite a few products for the would-be advertiser. After jumbling this and that and that and this – you’ll be looking somewhere in the realm of $4000.00 a year. With all the above mentioned companies (online directories), what the common result is that each one offers a multitude of products for excessive amounts of money and yet none of them allow YOU to say what it is you need to say. So once again…
